Using iPads At The Bedside / Acute

Doctors at GV Health have started using iPads to access information conveniently at patient bedside, such as patient details, medical history and test results.

Intern doctor Hashrul Rashid started the ipad project last year after hearing United States hospitals were trialling the idea.

There is a daily battle for use of computer terminals and laptops and yet there is WiFi located throughout the Shepparton hospital that enables iPads to be used.

Using iPads at the bedside means that the doctor can spend more time with the patient, rather than at a computer terminal in an office, and can show the patient test results, involving them more in their own care planning.
